Artist's Comments
This a project I did for my Spanish class. The assignment was to write an illustrate a poem. For those of you that don't speak Spanish, I'll try to give a rough translation:
Losing the Ground Lungs filled with air Unorganized molecules of oxygen without reason until they leave through the mouth in a stream creating order, I doubt that my legs can stay on the ground A bird with pure wings that sing secrets of sweetness Is standing on thin walking sticks like a skeleton that hasn't been chained By the empty an eternal death A heart like maternal elegance A wave that I can't resist Unless I fly, I can't feel It sounds a lot better in Spanish  Done in Prismacolor pencils and black ink, Spring 2007 |
